“The octopus is slowly crawling back into itself”, which was performed at the Sarajevo Youth Theatre last night by high school students from Ljubljana, is the last play of the competition programme of the 11th international festival of high school theatre Juventafest. The festival, organized by the “Medija-Art” Association, has been taking place since September 6.
Together with their peers from Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, who talked about the current major problems, the participants from Slovenia, using body language, dance and monologue, set a difficult task for this year’s jury, consisting of director Milica Kralj, actress Gordana Boban and graphic designer and professor Sandro Drinovac.
Tonight, September 10, at the closing ceremony of the festival, the jury will award the Grand Prix for the best play at the festival and the Special Jury Award.
The announcement of the winners will be preceded by a presentation of inclusive workshops on character mask, musical theatre, object animation basics and dance workshops, which are realized in cooperation with the Association “Life with Down Syndrome of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
The inclusive workshops enabled all participants of the festival to acquire new knowledge and skills, and make a reappearance on stage in the roles that they mastered during Juventafest, thanks to mentors and experts specialized in these fields.
The presentation of the workshops and the award ceremony for the 11th Juventafest will take place at the Sarajevo Youth Theatre starting at 7:30 p.m.
